Incorrect Blogger Comment Count

Blogger Comment count or Google comment count is incorrect. Big shocker there! If you  have a blog via Blogger, you may have encountered this very same issue. In fact, it happened just a few months ago.

If you’re comment moderation is activated, you will most likely see a discrepancy in the number of comments to moderate versus the number of actual comments.

Others are experiencing no comments on their blogs, however when email notification is turned on, the comments are still being emailed.

Many are also seeing an incorrect comment count on their blogs. For instance, a blog post may show 8 comments. But when you click on the post title or direct url, you will most likely see a significantly higher number such as 47, ect.

Others have reported error codes when trying to leave comments on other blogs.

Google/ Blogger is aware of the situation and have given the following statement:"

We're currently working through multiple issues which are affecting the reliability of our comment system. We'll update this post as soon as we have more information to share.

Google has created a spreadsheet where you can report your problem. The related thread in the help forum has been closed.

All comments will be restored. It is just a matter of time. Google will not give an ETA and they never will. Wordpress is looking better and better everyday!

Blogger Servers Down - Update

If you have been posting today, consider yourself one of the "lucky" ones. Blogger has been unavailable for thousands of user in various countries. Blogger has reported this error to be resolved.

However, I am still unable to publish via Windows Live Writer. It has been reported that many others are still experiencing the same issues.

Blogger hasn't announced what caused this major issue. I believe they are testing the new draft as the "draft" tab was visible and now it is gone.

How it Works

Problems or Questions about Your Blog?

Yesterday I sat at the computer for hours with so much I needed to do. I had everything planned but had a bad case of writers block. Needless to say, nothing got done. Today, I have the worst headache and I am turning in early. I wanted to share this while the thought was still fresh. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a great Monday!

These links have been a godsend for me. The first link is for the Google/Blogger help forum. You can find so much information here. The help forum is actually where I learned to put the border you see around my blog.

In the help forum, you can find assistance in html, css, layouts and templates. Maybe you received some sort of error code. You know what I'm talking about, it looks something like this: bX-8v4wg4. Of course, no information is given as to why you received the error code. You can open a discussion in the forum or search to see if a similar discussion has already opened.

The main categories listed in the Google - Blogger help forum are:

• Something is Broken
• Login Issues
• Layouts & Templates
• The Coffee Shop: Share Blogs, Talk Life.
• Blogger Feature Suggestions & Feedback

Since we (bloggers) do not have access to email Blogger directly, this is where any questions can be asked. I personally hate the fact that it has do be done this way, but when you don't have one specific person to talk to, the help forum is a a great necessary tool.

The second link will direct you to the Known Issues For Blogger Blog. If you are having an issue, I would suggest checking the blog to see if it has been mentioned. If so, you can click on a "report it" tab. If your issue is not mentioned, I suggest you add it to the help forum so that it may be further investigated. This blog is also where you will receive updates when a known issue is resolved.
