Growing up, I never truly understood the importance of a daily skincare regimen. I was under the impression that women, including myself, did not need anything other than sunscreen until they began to show signs of aging. Boy, was I wrong! I am in my mid twenties, though most would say I look older. Looking older is definitely not something any woman would wish for herself. I have tried countless anti-aging products and was ready to give up, until I discovered CosMedix.

I received several CosMedix products to review. My favorite the first product I tried was the Opti Crystal Chirally Correct Eye Serum. Opti Crystal is the ultimate tool in anti-aging eye care. This chirally correct blend of protective, corrective and cell-stimulating ingredients, contains microscopic liquid crystals to replenish damaged, thinning skin around the eyes to dramatically diminish the appearance of eye lines and wrinkles.

Opti Crystal is sold in a chic .25oz pump bottle. The application is very quick and easy. You simply pat a tiny amount of this iridescent serum around your eyes and mouth. I have been using Opti Crystal for several weeks now and I am absolutely blown away by the amazing results!

In addition to using around my eyes and mouth, I applied to my forehead where the majority of my wrinkles are found. I’m not sure where my wrinkles have disappeared to, but as long as they are no longer on my face, I am happy! Opti Crystal is fragrance free, and glides on smoothly without leaving your sticky or oily. This powerful eye serum actively revitalizes delicate skin for a radiant, younger-looking finish. This is without a doubt the best Age-defying product I have ever used! Take a look for yourself… This is after just 2 weeks!

The second product I received was the CosMedix Purity Balance Exfoliating Prep. Purity Balance’s natural cleansing and clarifying ingredients remove impurities from the skin and encourage healthy sebaceous activity. Combining cleansing tea tree oil with two high powered exfoliants—lactic acid and salicylic acid—this nourishing and stimulating tonic soothes, cools and revitalizes oily, breakout-prone and sun-damaged skin.


Applying Purity Balance is just as easy as the Opti Crystal. To use- Dispense a small amount into clean hands and pat onto face, avoiding the eye area. The Purity Balance does have a light alcohol scent if you inhale directly from the bottle but once applied to your skin, the fragrance is unnoticeable.

Purity Balance is available in a 3.3oz bottle. The spray pump sprays evenly, allowing for an easy application. My skin was left with a cool and refreshed feeling. CosMedix suggests using this following the use of Benefit Clean or Purity Clean. I didn’t have either, so I used my regular facial bar soap. I was very impressed at how well Purity Balance removed pore-clogging excess oils from my face. I used a cotton ball to help demonstrate how well this really works:



I couldn’t believe how much dirt and oil I was able to remove with Purity Balance even after washing my face! This product would be great for men and women who battle with excess oil and/or large pores. This product may increase sensitive to sunlight, so it is advised to wear sunscreen along with Purity Balance.

Hard Candy Makeup Review

Hard Candy was the first makeup I was introduced to as a young girl. I can remember back to elementary school when my friends and I would proudly share our newest Hard Candy cosmetics with each other. I'm not quite sure if Hard Candy was even available in my local stores or if I just didn't notice, but it has been several years since I have used their products.

Anytime I am at the store, I have to browse the makeup aisles before I check out. Just the other day I was walking down the aisle and my eyes were immediately drawn to the Hard Candy display. Their cutting-edge design is absolutely captivating. I haven't seen anything quite like it before. The eye-catching design seems to be inspired by tattoo art.

Hard Candy graciously sent me several cosmetic products to try. First up was the In The Shadows Eyeshadow Collection. Each collection is perfectly color coordinated to create any look. I received the shade Splendid, which is a beautiful five color palette of purple/blue, blacks/grays, and white. All of the In The Shadows eyeshadow palettes come with a mini black eyeliner pencil or a 4.3ml of primer. My particular palette included primer.

I originally thought this palette would be too dark for me. After playing with several color combinations, I found that it works great for a subtle day time look or as a bold and dramatic evening look. The colors in this palette provide a shimmery metallic finish- very pretty!

If you are looking for a lip gloss to plump your lips and give you that wet sexy look, look no further. Hard Candy Plexi Gloss is a non-sticky lip gloss that will do just that! I received the Mauve- Alous Plexi Gloss. I was very impressed by this gloss. This is a bright shade of pink with a hint of shimmer. This gloss has a light fragrance that smells so yummy, you will want to eat it. This smooth, moisturizing gloss lasted hours and I love the fact that I did not have to reapply after eating or drinking.

A dynamic eye pencil in a rainbow of shades, 12 to be exact! These creamy eye pencils deliver powerful, vibrant color that slides on smooth and stays soft and creamy for blending (about 30 seconds), then dries to a long-lasting finish that won’t budge. Line eyes with a hint of color or go for the full, artistic, multi-hued effect.

I rarely wear eyeliner. I would love to wear liner, but I have had such a hard time finding a good liner that doesn't smudge or cause my eyes to water. If you have the same problem, you have to try Take Me Out Liner. I received Soy which is a rich black shade. This liner glides on very smoothly and best of all it does not smudge! I have paid over $20 for eyeliner that doesn't come close to comparing to this. At only $5 at Walmart, this is a steal! The design doubles as a hair styling stick, which is great for some women but I would prefer the same thickness throughout. This liner stays put all day, so there is no need to carry along with me. I am still looking for my cap.

Blush Crush is a marbleized baked blush that give your cheeks an all-over warmth and glow. Baked for eight hours, the texture is easy to blend and natural looking. I received #126 Pin Up. This blush can be applied wet for a dramatic look or dry for a soft & delicate look. Pin Up is a light pink shade with a light gold shimmer. I love that this blush is so light. I didn't notice a fragrance which is great, because my hubby is always complaining that I smell like makeup. This particular shade was very similar to my skin tone, so it didn't add a lot of color. It did provide a slight shimmer to my cheeks. Living Doll is a beautiful bright pink blush. It's sitting on the store shelf calling out to me, and I can't wait to try this color next!

Hard candy has really set the bar high. With Hard Candy makeup you can express your beauty with products in fun, flirty colors. These cosmetics are great for females of all ages. I am in my mid twenties and I am sold on these products. My mother has already purchased some and I know young girls would love Hard Candy.

Cover Your Bum With A Hip- T

We have all seen it, or even worse, that person could have been us! You know what I am talking about - the dreaded muffin top, flashing your thong to complete strangers or even showing off your butt crack. Just because your boyfriend claims you have the cutest butt ever, does not mean the whole world wants to see it!

Hip-T is an ingenious product! Hip-T is a cotton/spandex band that provides midriff to below waist coverage when your shirt rises up or your jeans slide down from bending or reaching. When worn around the mid-section, Hip-T creates a nice layering effect without adding bulk.

Last year, I was at a concert event and witnessed something that you too have probably seen a time or two. Hey, someone get that girl a Hip-T!!

Hip- T sent me a Basic Black Hip-T. I was worried that my Hip-T would roll over when I sat down. I was very impressed at how well it stayed in place all day long. I loved the fact that it smoothed out my tummy, hiding my love handles and giving me a leaner appearance. Hip-T's are so comfortable, you won't even know you are wearing one. Hip-T can also be worn with shirts that have shrunk. My husband washed a new shirt of mine and it shrunk up about 2 inches. I wore my Hip-T with my shrunken shirt and did not have to worry about showing off too much skin. Please. for the sake of everyone, please wear a Hip-T!

Hip- T also sent me a Hoola Scarf. The Hoola Scarf is a light weight circle scarf. These trendy scarfs are all the rage in Hollywood:

I'm not much of a scarf wearer because they make me feel restricted and hot. The Hoola Scarf is different from transitional scarfs because they can be worn three different ways. I especially loved my Hoola because it was so lightweight and allowed room for me to breath. These are perfect for spring or even the hot summer months here in Texas.

I saw this commercial for the first time the other night. It is the funniest commercial I have seen in a long time. Its so funny because her sarcasm is right on. Who really dances on the beach because they got their period? Most women avoid white pants, not parade around in white spandex. And the person behind this slogan, Have a Happy Period, is obviously not a woman! If you haven't seen this video, take a look. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
