It's so easy to put ourselves and our education on the back burner. When it comes to family, our spouses and our children always come first. Every year, I tell myself I am going to go back to school, but I just get caught up in the hustle and bustle that I end up unintentionally putting it off.
When we, as moms, put our education on hold, we may be helping our family at the present moment, but we are only hurting them in the long-run. There is so much to learn and to gain from furthering our education. I know for me, money is one of the reasons I have put it off for so long. I'm sure with the economy in the shape that it is, this is the same reason for many moms.
I recently saw a segment on The Tyra Show discussing moms and education. The Tyra Show has teamed up with Project Working Mom who is providing more than $5 Million in scholarships for working moms and dads to pursue their education online. Now I don't normally enter contests but this is one I just can't refuse. The worst that can happen is me being told told no. And you and I have the same chances as winning as anyone else so I'm writing my essay and praying I will win.

94 winners will be given an online scholarship
Scholarship Amount (depending on courses) $688 and not more than $50,000
Must enter by March 1, 2010
All submitted essays must be in English and no longer than 1500 words in total
