This photo is of the Cagle family taken in 1900. I was able to find this photo for free while researching my family history. While, I haven't yet confirmed that they are my ancestors, I have found tons of vital information regarding my family history. I have been researching my family history for approximately 6 months now and have found ancestors from England, Circa 1700.I wanted to share this because many people believe you have to pay hundreds, possibly even thousands to hire a professional genealogist to research your roots. This is simply not true. Researching my family history has become a passionate hobby of mine and out of all of the information I have discovered, I didn't pay a dime.
If you don't know your family history, I'm sure you are curious. It is time consuming. but there is no time constraint. That means you can work on it as little or as much as you would like. I have included several genealogy links that have helped me immensely. These links are located on the right sidebar under the title " Free Genealogy Resources".
Just remember to take it one day at a time. Interview all of your living relatives first to find out what information they may be able to give you. I compare my family history research to a giant puzzle in that everything starts to make sense once you fit all of the "puzzle" pieces together. The most important thing to remember is to have fun!
