Playskool Weebles Musical Treehouse Playset Review and Giveaway

Playskool Weebles Musical Treehouse Playset

Playskool produces several lines of educational toys and games for children. Playskool also creates products for newborn to preschool-aged children which are designed to help improve motor skills. Their toys are fun, beneficial and help children express their creativity.

Playskool first introduced Weebles during the early 1970’s. I remember having so much fun gathering all of my Weebles and sliding them across the kitchen floor. Over the years, Weebles have seen a number of changes, but the one thing that still remains the same is the fact that Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down!

The Weebles Musical Treehouse Playset provides endless hours of fun and entertainment. It is designed for children ages 18 months and up, while the Weebles characters themselves are safe for children 12 months and up. The Weebles Playset comes with 2 Weebles figures, base, slide, escalator, instructions and requires 3 AA batteries (not included).

The Weebles Musical Treehouse Playset measures approximately 7.24 x 22.76 x 14.49. It’s a great size and I love the included handle on top. My son is very active and like most toddlers, he is constantly on the move. The handle is easy for him to hold and makes it very convenient to move from one area to the next.

Setup was very quick and easy. The instructions are easy to understand but it’s likely you won’t even need them. The slide and escalator easily snap into the base and remain nice and secure.

Weebles pals can wobble, climb, dance, slide and hide. Four songs and eight different sounds keep your child engaged. They’ll enjoy turning the crank to send the Weebles up the escalator and they will be full of grins watching them make their way down the curvy slide. The music is activated by a button on the bottom of the slide. Each time a Weeble slides over the button, new music plays. Children can also easy press the button to play the music if their Weebles are hiding in the secret space inside the tree, spinning around on the house deck or keeping watch on the top lookout post.

The Weebles Treehouse is the first toy my son reaches for in the morning and the last toy he plays with before he falls asleep. At first it took my son a few tries before he was able to turn the crank on the escalator. Now, he likes to challenge himself to turn it faster than the time before. He also likes to hide his Weebles figures in the treehouse and peek at them wobbling around through the small window.

PURCHASE INFORMATION: The Weebles Musical Treehouse Playset is available online and at most mass retailers. The estimated retail value is $29.99 (prices may vary by retailer).

Frecklebox Personalized Storybook Review and Giveaway

Children absolutely adore seeing their name in print, which means you can never go wrong with personalized children’s gifts. Frecklebox has one of the largest selections of personalized kid’s products including everything from personalized school supplies and lunchboxes to growth charts and room decor to coloring books, party supplies, puzzles and so much more.

My husband and I named our son Ayden which happens to be a very popular name, however the spelling we chose seems to be the least popular spelling choice. I am always on the lookout for cute personalized things for him, but the spelling is always “Aidan”, “Aiden”, or something similar. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review a personalized gift from Frecklebox. Ayden’s favorite activity is reading. We lucked out because Frecklebox has such a wonderful selection of personalized story books, twelve titles to be exact.

All of their storybooks can be personalized to include a child’s name, a dedication and I noticed several books also allow you to personalize the book right down to the city the child lives in. I decided on the book, “When I Grow Up.” This 16-page book features a child’s name throughout the book. The story begins with a Teacher asking the student (or your child’s name) what they would like to be when they grow up. They discuss several different professions in which the child’s name is displayed on the back of a fireman’s uniform, a police car, a doctor’s office sign, an airplane, a veterinarian's office sign, a zoo gate and even in the clouds. Ayden has enjoyed hearing his name throughout this book, but his favorite thing to do is point out the objects on each page. It has been a great learning experience for him and he has even learned several new words!

I loved the fact that Frecklebox offers a preview feature when shopping through their personalized children’s books. I was able to read the entire story before prior to ordering to assure this was the right book for us. I was also able to view all of the sections where my son’s name would be printed.

The Story Books are available in both soft cover and hard cover. We chose the hard cover which is perfect for younger children because it’s very sturdy and durable. The Hard Cover Storybook covers are printed on matte label and adhered to 100pt. chipboard with a laminated finish. The interior of the book is printed on 100# gloss text and measures 8” x 8”.

“When I Grow Up” is such an adorable book! The illustrations are bold, full of bright colors and elaborate. Ayden enjoys his new book and it’s one of my new favorites. I’m actually considering purchasing a duplicate so that we have one to read daily and one to put away as a keepsake!

Whether you are looking for a special gift for your child, or shopping for friends or relatives, Frecklebox is a great place to find unique personalized gifts that are guaranteed to create smiles and lasting memories.

PURCHASE INFORMATION: The Hard Cover “When I Grow Up” book retails for $34.95 and the Soft Cover version is sold for $19.95. Click here to shop.

Zak! Designs Review: Toy Story Mealtime Set

To infinity and beyond! Buzz Lightyear, Sheriff Woody and the rest of the gang are back for more adventures in these adorable, child-friendly plates, Toy Story 3 trays, bowls, flatware, drinkware, placemats and gift sets from Zak! Designs.

I received the Toy Story Themed 3pc Dinner Set with Lunch Bag. Our Toy Story Gift Set included the following items:

Toy Story Star Shaped Plate - This action packed plate includes a blue background color with Buzz Lightyear blasting upwards. Woody, Slinky Dog, Rex and a Pizza Planet Alien are also featured. The star shape’s curved edges make this plate easy for little fingers to grasp. The Star Shaped Toy Story Plate is not suggested for children under 3. I agree with the age recommendations as my son is 2 years old and had a hard time keeping his food on the plate and off of the table or floor. However, he loves this plate, more than his other character meal sets, and asks for it every time he eats. If your child is under 3, the 3-Section Tray may be a better choice. I find myself washing this plate several times throughout the day and the design has not scratched or faded. We just make sure to limit this plate to dry snacks.

Toy Story Tumbler – This cup is perfect when you are transitioning you child from a sippy cups to regular cups. It holds up to 9oz of liquid and is easy for little hands to grasp. One side of the cup features Buzz Lightyear while the other includes Sheriff Woody. This cup is recommended for children 3+, although my 2 year old does great with it.

Toy Story Bowl - 5.5"/14cm. The Toy Story bowl includes a round shape, a white base color with a blue rim and a colorful image of Buzz and Woody in the center. This is also recommended for children 3 and up. My son is very active and moves around a lot. He tends to flip this bowl quite frequently so we avoid cereal, soups and sauces and use if for snacks such as apple slices, goldfish and grapes.

Toy Story Lunch Bag -  This lunch bag is insulated to help keep your child’s lunch cold and fresh. The front features Buzz and Woody in action, while the background includes silhouettes of other popular Toy Story characters. The zipper is oversized, perfect for little ones to open and close. The double-stitched seams and padded handles provide extra support and extreme durability. Since my son is too young for school, he has put his lunch bag to good use by filling it with his favorite small toys.

My son is just two and has actually never seen Toy Story, but he was completely in awe of his new mealtime set and lunch box. This adorable set is BPA free, dishwasher safe and stain resistant. Not recommended for microwave use. Zak! Designs also has popular Disney characters including Cars, Disney Princess, Thomas & Friends, Hello Kitty, Dora the Explorer & many more!

Zak! Designs also offers a great resource for parents known as Mealtime Fun Zone. Here, you will find a discussion forum to discuss issues and share ideas with other parents, a recipe exchange (Yum!), helpful parenting links as well ways for you to get involved such as focus groups, product surveys, and ways to stay informed.

PURCHASE INFORMATION: Zak! Products can be purchased at Walmart, Amazon, Target, Toys R Us,as well as many other locations. Please visit Zak! Designs to find a store near you.

Review: Dakota's Personalized Gifts

Dakota’s Personalized Gifts provides gift solutions for all gift-giving occasions. Whether it’s a wedding or 50th wedding anniversary, a first baby or sweet 16, to a new job or retirement, they will help you find that special gift to make your special day a memorable one.

I love personalized gifts! What woman doesn’t? The Dakota’s Personalized Gifts online store is easy to navigate, which made it even easier for me to lose track of time. Most of my time was spend browsing through their gifts for women and personalized gifts for kids. I narrowed my decisions down to the beautiful Soul Mates Throw Pillow and the Personalized Canvas Tote Bag with Initials.

Before making my decision, I decided to take one last look. The Name Meaning Wall Canvas jumped right out at me and immediately caught my attention. Right away, I knew my two year old son would love it.

The Personalized Name Wall Canvas is available in pink with pastels for girls or blue with bright colors for boys. Personalization is free and ordering is easy. When selecting this item, simply type in the desired name and Dakota’s Personalized Gifts will research the name and incorporate its meaning into this one-of-a-kind piece of art.

This personalized canvas measures 8" h x 20" w, which makes it the perfect size to hang on the wall or proudly display on a shelf or dresser. It features wrapped edges which makes it easy to hang with or without a frame (includes sawtooth picture hanger). The border is beautiful alone, and felt using a frame would only take away from the amazing craftsmanship, so we chose to hang without a frame.

Ayden and I both love his new Personalized Name Meaning Wall Canvas. He’s only two, but I know he adores it because every time he sees his name picture, he asks to play with it. The edges are lined in a solid dark blue with lighter blue stars scattered throughout. The center background is white with a variety of brightly colored letters. The quality of this handmade canvas wall art surpasses my high expectations. I can see it is very well made and we look forward to enjoying it for years to come.

There are a few name meaning variations for Ayden which include “little fire”, “fire”, “enduring”, and “little fiery one”. The meaning printed on our canvas was “Fiery”, which is actually my favorite of them all. I say this to point out the fact that many names have several meanings. Dakota’s Personalized Gifts saves you time by researching the name meaning themselves, which is wonderful. However, if the name you are requesting has multiple meanings, I would suggest leaving your preferred choice in the order comments during checkout.

Dakota’s Personalized Gifts has a gift for every person and every occasion. Grandparent’s Day is just around the corner and I cannot think of anything better for my son to give his Nana than a personalized grandmother gift from Dakota’s Personalized Gifts.

PURCHASE INFORMATION: The Name Meaning Wall Canvas is sold for $39.95 and includes free personalization. Available in pink or blue. Visit www.dakotagifts.com to shop now.

Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies Giveaway

Fiber is essential to live an active and healthy lifestyle. Children are no exception. In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends at least 19 grams of fiber for children 2-3 years old. As our children get older, their recommended daily fiber intake increases. We do not always make the right food choices and often, unknowingly, fall below the recommended daily fiber intake. Thankfully, Pedia-Lax has created Fiber Gummies – a kid-friendly, sugar-free, calorie-free, gluten-free, natural fiber supplement for children ages 2-11. You may read my review here. Enter below for your chance to win!

Zoobies Pets Review

Like most young children, my son loves stuffed animals. We recently took a trip to the Dallas Zoo, where my son discovered elephants for the first time. Once we arrived home from the zoo, he began looking all throughout the house while shouting out “elephant!” I didn’t think much of it, until he tossed his favorite stuffed animal from his bed. At that moment, I realized he was looking for an elephant stuffed animal.

My “mom mission” was to find my son an elephant stuffed animal. During my search, I discovered Zoobies, who just happened to have exactly what I was looking for. Zoobies makes plush stuffed animals known as Zoobie Pets. However, Zoobie Pets aren’t just any ordinary stuffed animal. They are adorable 3-in1 stuffed animals that easily transform from a stuffed animal, to a pillow, to a soft, snuggly blanket.

Zoobies has so many wonderful Zoobie Pets to choose from, including animals from their Safari Collection, Zoo Collection, Bug Collection, Wildlife Collection, Baby Zoobies and even Adult Zoobies. If the choice was up to me, I would have chosen the super cute Tama the Tortoise. However, my son insisted on an elephant, therefore we chose the equally adorable Ellema the Elephant.

Ellema the Elephant will win over your child’s heart as soon as he/she lays eyes on her. My two year old son helped me remove Ellema from the shipping box and he hasn’t let her out of his sight once. Ellema the Elephant is absolutely adorable! She is a soft shade of beautiful baby blue and includes to plush white elephant tusks. Ellema’s head is stuffed with microbeads, which makes her extremely soft and squishy. She is made from 100% polyester, making her very durable.Ellema measures 53”x34”x 21.5L.

I cannot begin to tell you how much my son and I love our new Zoobies Pet! The 3-in-1 feature is absolutely amazing. Zoobies Pets are made with two soft hooks and a zipper which allow you to access the blanket. The blanket is removable, although my son prefers to keep it attached to Ellema. The removable blanket is a great feature for parents. My son spilled juice on his blanket and I was able to easily remove the blanket to wash, while spot washing the outer pouch.

I was so amazed at how soft the fleece blanket was. In the two years and dozens of blankets we’ve gone through, I have never felt one as soft as Ellema. The blanket is the perfect size to keep your little ones warm and can easily accommodate more than one small child.

Zoobies recommends using a lingerie bag if machine washing. I did not see these instructions prior to washing, but am happy to say after being washed several times, Ellema is in the same new condition we received her in – no peeling, fading or shrinking. They also recommend Ellema for children 3 and up (safety tested for all ages), however my 2 year old has done great with her.

Zoobies Pets are reasonably priced and can be transformed from a stuffed animal, to a pillow and blanket, making them ideal for all places and occasions – at home, bedtime, doctor’s visits, road trips, birthday gifts, baby shower gifts and much more. I am so excited to have discovered Zoobies and I look forward to beginning my new Zoobies collection!

BUY IT: Shop online at Zoobies or find a local retailer.
Cost for Ellema the Elephant is $34.00 or $25.00 for Baby Ellema.

Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies Review and Giveaway

We all need fiber in our diets and children are no exception. Foods rich in fiber are filling,  therefore high fiber foods discourage overeating. Fiber also helps to pass food through the digestive system and may protect against stomach and colon cancer as well as prevent constipation. Fiber also helps to lower LDL cholesterol, or in a child’s sake, help prevent high cholesterol as well as preventing diabetes and heart disease.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends 19 grams of fiber for  2-3 year olds, 25 grams of fiber for 4-8 year olds and 26-31grams for 9-11 year olds.  As parents, we understand the importance of a high fiber diet, but you won’t hear your child begging for more fiber. Your child may eat fiber-rich foods, but he or she may not be consuming enough fiber. I know my son loves beans, but it can still be difficult to meet the daily recommended intake.

Pedia- Lax Fiber Gummies are a great-tasting way to supplement your child’s daily fiber intake when fruits and veggies aren’t enough. Your child can get the same fiber in just 3 gummies as they would in 1/2 cup of broccoli. Besides being packed full of fiber, these gummies are gluten-free, sugar-free, calorie-free and are made with all natural fruit flavors.

These fiber gummies are kid-friendly penguin-shaped and easy to chew. I had no problems getting my two-year old to take Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies. In fact, he loved them so much he kept asking for more. Of course, mom had to try one as well. They taste just like fruit gummies- there is no medicine taste and no after taste. They did a wonderful job of regulating my sons bowel movements without making them runny. In addition, I feel confident giving Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies to my son because they are not medicine, not a laxative, just wholesome, healthy fiber. PediaLax Fiber Gummies are dentist approved and now, mom approved!

Cost

$7.99 for a 60 count bottle.

Boon Review- Frog Pod Deluxe

Initially, Boon began with a toddler and a messy bathtub. Mother and designer, Rebecca Finell was determined to find a better way to keep her bathtub tidy, yet still offering a fun bath time for her child. Her wheels started turning and soon enough, the Frog Pod was created.  She sought out her business partner, Ryan Fernandez, and together they founded Boon Incorporated. Today, Boon offers a wide range of innovative, yet affordable products to help families all over the world.

For my review, I chose to review the product that started it all- The Frog Pod Deluxe. The Frog Pod Deluxe includes both the Boon Frog Pod and Boon Bath Goods designer bath toys.

The Frog Pod is designed to help make cleanup a breeze by providing a drainable scoop for collection and rinsing toys. In addition, the Frog Pod provides storage and bath organization. You have several options for easy assembly- adhesive strips that can be removed without harming or damaging bath tile or wall surfaces, screw-mounted or suction cup wall bracket(sold separately).

The Bath Goods bath toys included with the Frog Pod Deluxe include 15 designer foam appliques, 3 balls, and 2 mini scrubbies to make bath time a creative and playful experience. The toys in this set do not absorb water which reduces the risk for mold and mildew. The contemporary colors and funky shapes of these toys look great in any bathroom and the mini-scrubbies are the perfect size for little hands.

I cannot even begin to describe how much my son and I love the Frog Pod Deluxe. His eyes lit up the moment he first saw his new bath toy. I chose to hang our Frog Pod using the self-adhesive strips. I am very impressed by how well these strips hold. I initially thought the Frog Pod would fall due to shower steam or from my son tugging on it. We have had ours installed for a couple of weeks now, and it remains tightly intact.

One of my favorite features is the frog’s fingers and toes. Both can be used for hanging bath accessories, and we use them to hang our mini-scrubbies. This toy was created with moms in mind too! Behind the frogs head and your shower wall is is a hidden shelf which offers room to hold 2-3 bottles of soap, shampoo, body wash, and so on.

The Frog Pod has the ability to hold up to 10lbs when using the adhesive strips and 20lbs when mounting with screws. The Frog Pod comfortably holds all of the toys from the Bath Goods set with a small amount of room for additional toys. We found what works best for us is to hang the wall appliques to the shower wall, which allows for more room for other toys in the scoop basket. They stay attached to the wall until our next bath time.

The Frog Pod helps make bath time clean-up a breeze, providing a drainable scoop for collecting and rinsing toys. Not only will the Frog Pod make bath time fun, but as parent’s we will feel at ease not constantly having to worry about mold and mildew building up on the toys.

My son recently turned two, and he loves his new Frog Pod. When I ask him if he would like to take a bath, he responds “ frog, play with frog, frog…”. He has a blast removing the scoop and dumping his toys into his bathwater. I enjoy watching him have so much fun getting clean. I am also grateful to have my shower back. His bath toys were taking over our shower. With the Boon Frog Pod, everything is neatly organized and out of the way. I wish I had discovered this product sooner! It would be great for babies, toddlers and I am sure we will enjoy it for years to come.

Boon products are not only clever, but they are modern, convenient and fun to use! Boon manufactures toys, bath goods, organizational pieces, toddler potty training seats, high chairs and so much more! All of their products are BPA-free, pthalate-free and PVC-free, so you can shop with confidence, knowing their products are safe for your children to use.

The only thing I would change about this unique lunch system is to make the reusable containers leak-proof. The lids don't seal or snap so I wouldn't recommend using your containers  for sauces, dressings, soups or other liquid foods. However, the containers are designed this way to be kid-friendly and allow for little fingers to easily open their lunches without the help of an adult. The Easy Lunch Box System is affordable no matter what type of budget you are on. Just think about all of the money you will save not having to buy new sandwich or lunch bags each week. I know we are enjoying the savings! Aside from being a time saver and huge money saver, Easy Lunch Boxes containers save space because they are stackable. Cleanup couldn't be easier because these microwavable containers are dishwasher safe!
