Playskool produces several lines of educational toys and games for children. Playskool also creates products for newborn to preschool-aged children which are designed to help improve motor skills. Their toys are fun, beneficial and help children express their creativity.

Playskool first introduced Weebles during the early 1970’s. I remember having so much fun gathering all of my Weebles and sliding them across the kitchen floor. Over the years, Weebles have seen a number of changes, but the one thing that still remains the same is the fact that Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down!

The Weebles Musical Treehouse Playset provides endless hours of fun and entertainment. It is designed for children ages 18 months and up, while the Weebles characters themselves are safe for children 12 months and up. The Weebles Playset comes with 2 Weebles figures, base, slide, escalator, instructions and requires 3 AA batteries (not included).

The Weebles Musical Treehouse Playset measures approximately 7.24 x 22.76 x 14.49. It’s a great size and I love the included handle on top. My son is very active and like most toddlers, he is constantly on the move. The handle is easy for him to hold and makes it very convenient to move from one area to the next.

Setup was very quick and easy. The instructions are easy to understand but it’s likely you won’t even need them. The slide and escalator easily snap into the base and remain nice and secure.

Weebles pals can wobble, climb, dance, slide and hide. Four songs and eight different sounds keep your child engaged. They’ll enjoy turning the crank to send the Weebles up the escalator and they will be full of grins watching them make their way down the curvy slide. The music is activated by a button on the bottom of the slide. Each time a Weeble slides over the button, new music plays. Children can also easy press the button to play the music if their Weebles are hiding in the secret space inside the tree, spinning around on the house deck or keeping watch on the top lookout post.

The Weebles Treehouse is the first toy my son reaches for in the morning and the last toy he plays with before he falls asleep. At first it took my son a few tries before he was able to turn the crank on the escalator. Now, he likes to challenge himself to turn it faster than the time before. He also likes to hide his Weebles figures in the treehouse and peek at them wobbling around through the small window.

Frecklebox Personalized Storybook Review and Giveaway

Children absolutely adore seeing their name in print, which means you can never go wrong with personalized children’s gifts. My husband and I named our son Ayden which happens to be a very popular name, however the spelling we chose seems to be the least popular spelling choice. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review a personalized gift from Frecklebox. Ayden’s favorite activity is reading. We lucked out because Frecklebox has such a wonderful selection of personalized story books, twelve titles to be exact.

All of their storybooks can be personalized to include a child’s name, a dedication and I noticed several books also allow you to personalize the book right down to the city the child lives in. I decided on the book, “When I Grow Up.” This 16-page book features a child’s name throughout the book. The story begins with a Teacher asking the student (or your child’s name) what they would like to be when they grow up. They discuss several different professions in which the child’s name is displayed on the back of a fireman’s uniform, a police car, a doctor’s office sign, an airplane, a veterinarian's office sign, a zoo gate and even in the clouds. Ayden has enjoyed hearing his name throughout this book, but his favorite thing to do is point out the objects on each page. It has been a great learning experience for him and he has even learned several new words! 

I loved the fact that Frecklebox offers a preview feature when shopping through their personalized children’s books. I was able to read the entire story before prior to ordering to assure this was the right book for us. I was also able to view all of the sections where my son’s name would be printed.

The Story Books are available in both soft cover and hard cover. We chose the hard cover which is perfect for younger children because it’s very sturdy and durable. The Hard Cover Storybook covers are printed on matte label and adhered to 100pt. chipboard with a laminated finish. The interior of the book is printed on 100# gloss text and measures 8” x 8”.

“When I Grow Up” is such an adorable book! The illustrations are bold, full of bright colors and elaborate. Ayden enjoys his new book and it’s one of my new favorites. I’m actually considering purchasing a duplicate so that we have one to read daily and one to put away as a keepsake!

Zak! Designs Review: Toy Story Mealtime Set

To infinity and beyond! Buzz Lightyear, Sheriff Woody and the rest of the gang are back for more adventures in these adorable, child-friendly plates, Toy Story 3 trays, bowls, flatware, drinkware, placemats and gift sets from Zak! Designs.

I received the Toy Story Themed 3pc Dinner Set with Lunch Bag. Our Toy Story Gift Set included the following items:

Toy Story Star Shaped Plate - This action packed plate includes a blue background color with Buzz Lightyear blasting upwards. Woody, Slinky Dog, Rex and a Pizza Planet Alien are also featured. The star shape’s curved edges make this plate easy for little fingers to grasp. The Star Shaped Toy Story Plate is not suggested for children under 3. I agree with the age recommendations as my son is 2 years old and had a hard time keeping his food on the plate and off of the table or floor. However, he loves this plate, more than his other character meal sets, and asks for it every time he eats. If your child is under 3, the 3-Section Tray may be a better choice. I find myself washing this plate several times throughout the day and the design has not scratched or faded. We just make sure to limit this plate to dry snacks.

Toy Story Tumbler – This cup is perfect when you are transitioning you child from a sippy cups to regular cups. It holds up to 9oz of liquid and is easy for little hands to grasp. One side of the cup features Buzz Lightyear while the other includes Sheriff Woody. This cup is recommended for children 3+, although my 2 year old does great with it.

Toy Story Bowl - 5.5"/14cm. The Toy Story bowl includes a round shape, a white base color with a blue rim and a colorful image of Buzz and Woody in the center. This is also recommended for children 3 and up. My son is very active and moves around a lot. He tends to flip this bowl quite frequently so we avoid cereal, soups and sauces and use if for snacks such as apple slices, goldfish and grapes.

Toy Story Lunch Bag -  This lunch bag is insulated to help keep your child’s lunch cold and fresh. The front features Buzz and Woody in action, while the background includes silhouettes of other popular Toy Story characters. The zipper is oversized, perfect for little ones to open and close. The double-stitched seams and padded handles provide extra support and extreme durability. Since my son is too young for school, he has put his lunch bag to good use by filling it with his favorite small toys.

My son is just two and has actually never seen Toy Story, but he was completely in awe of his new mealtime set and lunch box. This adorable set is BPA free, dishwasher safe and stain resistant. Zoobies Pets Review

Like most young children, my son loves stuffed animals. We recently took a trip to the Dallas Zoo, where my son discovered elephants for the first time. Once we arrived home from the zoo, he began looking all throughout the house while shouting out “elephant!” I didn’t think much of it, until he tossed his favorite stuffed animal from his bed. At that moment, I realized he was looking for an elephant stuffed animal. 

My “mom mission” was to find my son an elephant stuffed animal. During my search, I discovered Zoobies, who just happened to have exactly what I was looking for. Zoobies makes plush stuffed animals known as Zoobie Pets. However, Zoobie Pets aren’t just any ordinary stuffed animal. They are adorable 3-in1 stuffed animals that easily transform from a stuffed animal, to a pillow, to a soft, snuggly blanket.

Zoobies has so many wonderful Zoobie Pets to choose from, including animals from their Safari Collection, Zoo Collection, Bug Collection, Wildlife Collection, Baby Zoobies and even Adult Zoobies. If the choice was up to me, I would have chosen the super cute Tama the Tortoise. However, my son insisted on an elephant, therefore we chose the equally adorable Ellema the Elephant.

Ellema the Elephant will win over your child’s heart as soon as he/she lays eyes on her. My two year old son helped me remove Ellema from the shipping box and he hasn’t let her out of his sight once. Ellema the Elephant is absolutely adorable! She is a soft shade of beautiful baby blue and includes to plush white elephant tusks. Ellema’s head is stuffed with microbeads, which makes her extremely soft and squishy. She is made from 100% polyester, making her very durable.Ellema measures 53”x34”x 21.5L.

I cannot begin to tell you how much my son and I love our new Zoobies Pet! The 3-in-1 feature is absolutely amazing. Zoobies Pets are made with two soft hooks and a zipper which allow you to access the blanket. The blanket is removable, although my son prefers to keep it attached to Ellema. The removable blanket is a great feature for parents. My son spilled juice on his blanket and I was able to easily remove the blanket to wash, while spot washing the outer pouch.

I was so amazed at how soft the fleece blanket was. In the two years and dozens of blankets we’ve gone through, I have never felt one as soft as Ellema. The blanket is the perfect size to keep your little ones warm and can easily accommodate more than one small child.

Zoobies recommends using a lingerie bag if machine washing. I did not see these instructions prior to washing, but am happy to say after being washed several times, Ellema is in the same new condition we received her in – no peeling, fading or shrinking. They also recommend Ellema for children 3 and up (safety tested for all ages), however my 2 year old has done great with her.

Zoobies Pets are reasonably priced and can be transformed from a stuffed animal, to a pillow and blanket, making them ideal for all places and occasions – at home, bedtime, doctor’s visits, road trips, birthday gifts, baby shower gifts and much more. I am so excited to have discovered Zoobies and I look forward to beginning my new Zoobies collection!

Curious Chef 15 Pc Dessert Set

My 23 month old son loves to help me in the kitchen. He loves to help put away the dishes, particularity our spatulas and mixing/serving spoons. Lately, he has been interested in helping me cook, so I turned to Curious Chef for their child friendly products.

Curious Chef realizes that kids all over the world are anxious to help mom or dad out in the kitchen. Not only do kids find cooking fun, but it is a great learning experience. Curious Chef provides kid friendly cooking utensils that are safe, comfortable and easy to use. Curious Chef sells individual items, boxed items, kids cooking with kids sets and kids cooking with adult sets. While I would eventually like to try all of their boxed sets, I thought the 15 Piece Dessert Set would be most appropriate for our current needs.

The items in this set aren't necessarily designed to be used together. For example, they have combined cookie cutters with ice cream bowls and scoop. I prefer this though, because this set can be used for multiple purposes. The 15 Piece Dessert Set includes:

Curious? Ah, yes very much so. My little man was very anxious to discover all of the items in our set. Here he is examining the large mixing spoon. If you look closely, you can see the end of the spoon is flexible. All of the handles are made with silicone to help secure a tight and slip free grip. As you can imagine, it can be very difficult to ask your toddler to hold a pose. My sons arm is covering the handle, making it look smaller than it actually is. In reality, the handles are the perfect size for small hands, and can be used by adults as well.

The recommended age for the Curious Chef 15 Pc Dessert Set is 5+. My little guy had no trouble holding the utensils. It's comforting knowing Curious Chef offers safe child friendly products. Ayden had a blast helping mommy bake sugar cookies. I did have to work with him a bit, because he was tossing the batter right out of the bowl. Regardless, we both had fun and it was a great experience for the both of us. If you are willing to work with your toddler, this would be a great set to begin with. Clean up takes just a few seconds as all Curious Chef products are dishwasher safe.

These may not be the prettiest sugar cookies ever made, but not bad for our first time. Ayden had so much fun helping mommy bake cookies. He is also very excited about his very own Root Beer Float Mug. We have them frosting in the freezer and cannot wait to use them for floats. If your child expresses an interest in cooking, Curious Chef offers all of the products needed help spark their creativity.

All kids love stickers and I have never seen a first aid kit include them. What a great idea to help comfort your child! The Medibag is a great value for everything that is included.

The First Aid Guide gives helpful tips on what to do in particular medical emergencies. I did find that most of the information was "general" and not child specific. I would have liked to see more age appropriate information rather than what do do if you think you are having a heart attack. I would have also liked to have seen a pain reliever such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen included. Overall, this is an amazing product! With summer knocking on our door, my son will playing outdoors more often and I am sure we will put our Medibag to good use.
