Boon Review- Frog Pod Deluxe

Initially, Boon began with a toddler and a messy bathtub. Mother and designer, Rebecca Finell was determined to find a better way to keep her bathtub tidy, yet still offering a fun bath time for her child. For my review, I chose to review the product that started it all- The Frog Pod Deluxe. The Frog Pod Deluxe includes both the Boon Frog Pod and Boon Bath Goods designer bath toys.

The Frog Pod is designed to help make cleanup a breeze by providing a drainable scoop for collection and rinsing toys. In addition, the Frog Pod provides storage and bath organization. You have several options for easy assembly- adhesive strips that can be removed without harming or damaging bath tile or wall surfaces, screw-mounted or suction cup wall bracket(sold separately). 

The Bath Goods bath toys included with the Frog Pod Deluxe include 15 designer foam appliques, 3 balls, and 2 mini scrubbies to make bath time a creative and playful experience. The toys in this set do not absorb water which reduces the risk for mold and mildew. The contemporary colors and funky shapes of these toys look great in any bathroom and the mini-scrubbies are the perfect size for little hands.

I cannot even begin to describe how much my son and I love the Frog Pod Deluxe. His eyes lit up the moment he first saw his new bath toy. I chose to hang our Frog Pod using the self-adhesive strips. I am very impressed by how well these strips hold. I initially thought the Frog Pod would fall due to shower steam or from my son tugging on it. We have had ours installed for a couple of weeks now, and it remains tightly intact.

One of my favorite features is the frog’s fingers and toes. Both can be used for hanging bath accessories, and we use them to hang our mini-scrubbies. This toy was created with moms in mind too! Behind the frogs head and your shower wall is is a hidden shelf which offers room to hold 2-3 bottles of soap, shampoo, body wash, and so on.

The Frog Pod has the ability to hold up to 10lbs when using the adhesive strips and 20lbs when mounting with screws. The Frog Pod comfortably holds all of the toys from the Bath Goods set with a small amount of room for additional toys. We found what works best for us is to hang the wall appliques to the shower wall, which allows for more room for other toys in the scoop basket. They stay attached to the wall until our next bath time.

The Frog Pod helps make bath time clean-up a breeze, providing a drainable scoop for collecting and rinsing toys. Not only will the Frog Pod make bath time fun, but as parent’s we will feel at ease not constantly having to worry about mold and mildew building up on the toys.

 

My son recently turned two, and he loves his new Frog Pod. When I ask him if he would like to take a bath, he responds “ frog, play with frog, frog…”. He has a blast removing the scoop and dumping his toys into his bathwater. I enjoy watching him have so much fun getting clean. I am also grateful to have my shower back. His bath toys were taking over our shower. With the Boon Frog Pod, everything is neatly organized and out of the way. I wish I had discovered this product sooner! It would be great for babies, toddlers and I am sure we will enjoy it for years to come.

I am always so jealous of my friends who have baby girls. Boys clothing is always so plain and boring. I was expecting another plain and boring outfit from Organically Grown. I always have a hard time finding clothes that fit my son because he is so stout. I like that the waistband in these shorts are elastic. They fit my son great and provide ultimate comfort. It can become very frustrating shopping for him. He owns several clothing items that I know are uncomfortable for him. In some of them, he can't bend properly or even climb into a chair by himself. The shorts he is wearing from Organically Grown allow him to move freely.

Boogie Wipes Review - No Boogie Left Behind

If you have young children, you know how much they hate having their boogers wiped from their little noses. If you heard me wiping my son's nose with a normal wipe, you would think I was torturing him. Like most kids, he hates having hard crusty boogers wiped from his face and he will scream until one of us gives up.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to try Boogie Wipes for myself. I received a pack of the Fresh Scent Boogie Wipes along with several individually packed wipes in the Magic Menthol and Great Gape Scents. Lucky for mom, it just happened to be cold season in our home. My son was sitting with me when I opened my Box of Boogie Wipes. He was especially drawn to the individual packaged wipes. I opened the Great Grape Scent first. Before I had a chance to smell it myself, my sons quick fingers grabbed it from my hands. I told him to smell it and he put the wipe to his nose and began sniffing. He continued to sniff his Boogie Wipe, when I snuck in to wipe his crusty nose. I was amazed when all of his dried crusty boogers were gone with just one simple wipe. I was even more surprised that he didn't put up a fight. Instead, he pulled the wipe to his face and continued to smell the grape scent and even wiped his own nose!

The other two Boogie Wipe scents are great as well. Personally, I like the Magic Menthol the most. It has a light menthol scent and can/will be used for our entire family. The Fresh scent is a light (almost unnoticeable) refreshing scent.

Horizon Organic Chocolate Milk with DHA Omega-3

I have a 21 month old son and as his mother, I know the important role that calcium plays in his diet. At around 16 months, my son lost all interest in drinking milk and would rather drink nothing at all then plain milk. So in order to provide him with the calcium that growing babies need, I started giving him Hershey's Chocolate Milk. I hated giving it to him knowing that it is full of sugar, calories, carbohydrates not to mention high fructose corn syrup but I didn't know how else to supplement the calcium in his diet.

I was recently offered the chance to review Horizon Organic Chocolate Milk with DHA Omega-3. I had never tried an Organic product so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. The first thing I noticed about this milk is "DHA". DHA? I knew this was essential for expecting women and infants, but I had no idea this is something my son still needed. Here are a few facts I recently learned about DHA:

• DHA has been shown to help support heart health, eye health and brain function.

• DHA provides a nutritional boost for your child's growing mind and body. Children's brains grow incredibly fast. Did you know their little brains nearly quadruples in the first five years of life.

My Review

Like my son, I love chocolate milk! I will admit, I was just a little afraid of trying this milk. I thought because it is organic, the taste would be bitter and un-sweet. I was pleasantly surprised. The color is a lighter shade then when we use Hershey's but the taste is just as good, if not better. There was no bitterness and it was sweet enough to satisfy my craving. As for my son, he couldn't taste a difference in the flavor. After finishing his Horizon Organic Chocolate Milk with DHA Omega-3, his exact words were " More Please".

After becoming more educated with DHA, I now know my son needs more than just calcium for his growing body. And since I also know DHA is important for adults, I won't feel so guity indulging in a glass every now & then. This is definitely going on our weekly shopping list.

Shushybye Sleepover Surprise Book & Close Your Eyes CD

Several years ago, I interned as a teacher's assistant to first-graders for the entire school year. During that time, I was introduced to countless numbers of children's book. Eric Carle's books were always my favorite until I discovered the book Shushybye Sleepover Surprise by Steve Syatt!

My 21 month old has reached his terrible two's early. Since he's entered this stage bedtime has been a constant battle for us. There's nothing he won't do to avoid going to sleep. He will scream, cry, yell, bang on the wall, and most recently he's began to rip off his pants and diaper.

Description: Shushybye is a preschool entertainment and lifestyle brand designed to inspire children to look forward to sleep time and help parents prepare their children for sleep in a fun and loving way that encourages imagination. My Review: My son crawled into my lap to read his new book. The Bright and fun colored illustrations really captured his full attention. He loves books and throughout the day, constantly brings me a book to read to him. Almost always, mid way through the book, he gets bored and tosses it aside. With Shushybye Sleepover Surprise, he sat in my lap from start to finish. When I was finished reading him the book, he said "read", which is the first time he has said this word. I can't say I was too surprised; this is an adorable book.

Does this book really help children fall asleep? For my son it does! Granted, we have to read it to him twice, sometimes three times. My son really enjoys this book and after we are finished reading, he falls right to sleep. It's only been a couple of days, but we have been reading Shushybye Sleepover Surprise to him everynight (at his request) and he hasn't thrown even one tantrum.

What I didn't Like: The characters in this book have unique and unusual names. Although they are cute names, they are much to difficult for a child with a speech impediment to pronounce, such as my son.

The book cover glows in the dark. This is a really cool feature. I'm a grown woman and I love this myself. I'm sure preschoolers would find it fascinating as well. But, for my 21 month old, it is more of a distraction. I have to either take the book out of his room or lay it face down.

Close Your Eyes CD: The Shushybye Dream band is comprised of 5 talented musicians along with the lead vocals of acclaimed children's singer, Michael North. The Close Your Eyes CD features 11 tracks and is 22minutes long. Song titles include: Feels Like Magic, It's a Shushy Day, Pillow Park Rock, Beyond the Stars and Past the Moon, Shushybye Boogie Tonight, Who's Makin' Dreams, The Snort and Weez Theme Song, The Shushybye Blues, Close Your Eyes, Send Your Dream Wish, and It's Evening.

My Review: We didn't play the Close Your Eyes CD or the Read/Sing along CD at bedtime. My son loves music more than anything. Whenever he hears music, he stops whatever it is he is doing and begins to dance. When the music stops, he gets very upset and begins to cry Playing the CD would be the worst possible way to try to get him to go to sleep. We did play it the following day and he loved it. This CD has a great combination of Pop-Rock and Lullabies.The music is very fun and entertaining. It's definitely something mom and dad can enjoy day-in and day-out.

Shushybye Sleepover Suprise Book ~ Teaser

I know many of you have young children who love to start trouble at bed time. If your child is anything like mine, he/she is a "perfect angel" during the day, but when it's time to get ready for nite-nite, they turn into a completely different person. My son is 21 months old and since hitting the "terrible two" stage, he refuses to go to sleep without a fight.

I am very excited to announce I have just received the Shushybye Sleepover Surprise Book. The first night I read this to my son, he went right to sleep ( after asking me to read it two more times). I'm going to give it a couple more days to find out how he reacts, but I think we have a winner. The illustrations are beautiful and it's a very cute story.

Boudreaux's Butt Paste

My son rarely gets diaper rashes. Infact, he has only had a total of 3 of them and he is 21months old. I believe the reason he hasn't had many diaper rashes is because I use Boudreaux's Butt Paste. This is the most amazing diaper rash product out there! My son had a terrible rash yesterday; his skin looked very red and raw. I applied Butt Paste at each diaper change and within hours I noticed his skin was clearing up. When he woke up this morning, his rash was gone.

This diaper rash cream isn't just for diaper rashes. It works great on heat rashes and getting rid of pimples.

This Butt Paste is very thick, which adds a protective layer. It smells great. The only bad thing about this product is that is that it will stain clothing. So, just be sure not to get it on anything. It's a little pricier than other diaper rash creams and ointments, but it is well worth it. If it weren't for my husband using all of the cream for himself, we would still be on our first tube. So, in the long run you are actually saving money!

Gerber Breast Therapy Moisturizing Balm

Gerber's Breast Therapy Gentle Moisturizing Balm is the best! When I first began to breast feed, my nipples became so sore and cracked. They were so bad, they actually bled. When that happened, I immediately went to the store to find a product to help. There were a couple of different products but I chose this because Gerber has always been a product moms can trust. I applied the balm after each feeding and the next day, my nipples felt moisturized and back to normal.

Campbell's Chicken with Rice Soup

As a mother of a twenty-month old I can honestly say I don't know what I would do without Campbell's Chicken with Rice Soup. Like many children, my son is a picky eater. I can't tell you the number of times he has turned up his nose at lunch/ dinner time. When that does happen, I know I can rely on his chicken with rice soup. This soups is tied with corn on the cob for first place on his favorite foods list.

My son actually just finished his chicken & rice soup for dinner tonight, which is what made me think of this review. I like to serve it with Goldfish Saltine Crackers. He just loves to dip the crackers in the broth which is fun to watch. And yes, this tastes identical to Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup, just with rice instead of noodles.

What did you like about this product?: Besides the fact that my son loves it, I like the fact that the lid can be easily pulled off without needing a can opener. I like that it is cheap, nutritional and satisfying.

Is there anything you didn't like?: I do think it is high in sodium, but Campbell's does offer a Healthy Request version which has about 410mg of sodium.

Is it healthy?: Calories 70, Total Fat 1.5, Sodium 820mg

Would You Recommend: Now that's a silly question. Of course I would!

I found these by accident and I'm glad I did. These are great for kids and adults who love intense flavors. They are sold 12 per box and the flavors include Appleicious, Cotton Candy, Orange Dream, Rainbow, New Very Berry, & Banana Split. I found them at my local Wal*Mart for less then $2.00 per box; a price that certainly can't be beat. You may get brain-freeze, but you won't get fat from these bad boys. Each Swirlstix contains just 48 calories,11 carbohydrates, and 1 sugar. And the part I LOVE best? Each popsicle stick is wider and rounder which makes perfect for those little fingers.
