Somersaults Snacks Review

S.S. Sea Salt Somersaults SnacksWe have just entered into a new year and along with myself, I know many of you resolved to lose weight in 2010. Somersault Snacks are a great snack to help keep you and me on the right track!

Salty Pepper Somersault SnacksUnlike many other healthy snacks, Somersaults actually taste good. They contain 6-7grams of protein and 3grams of fiber so you will feel satisfied and full much longer then you would with other snack choices.

Somersaults come in three delicious flavors: S.S Sea Salt, Salty Pepper and Chez Cocoa. One of my favorite snacks are sunflower seeds so I was pleasantly surprised to find out all three flavors contain sunflower seeds. My favorite flavor is S.S Sea Salt. With the salt and sunflowers, you get just the right mix of sweet and salty. Salty Pepper is a snack like no other. This flavor is great for those who like pepper or spice. I always have to add my own pepper to snacks, so I was happy to find a snack with pepper already added. Last but not least, is Chez Cocoa. This flavor also has a great blend of salty and sweet. I am not a "sweets" person, but this flavor is very tasty. Chez Cocoa has just the right amount of sweetness without going overboard. My toddler son loves all three flavors. When I ask what he would like for his snack, he always reaches for our bags of Somersaults.
Chez Cocoa Somersault Snacks
Somersaults are available in two different sizes: 2oz, which are great for taking on the go and 6oz, which are great for the pantry, the office or packing for a family day out. They also sell caddies of 8- 2oz bags. I especially love the fact that Somersaults are all natural. Their ingredients include: Sunflower Seeds, Whole Wheat Flour, Evaporated Cane Juice, Cocoa Powder, Sesame Seeds, Chicory Root Fiber, Sea Salt, Expeller Pressed High Oleic Sunflower Oil, Vital Wheat Gluten, and Ground Pepper.

Cost:
$1.79 for 2oz, $3.99 for 6oz, $11.99 for caddie

100 Calorie VitaBrowniesFor my review, I received a Chocolate Super Sampler full of VitaTops and VitaBrownies. My husband and father tried the VitaTops. The only words out of their mouths were "mmmm, & oh my god - these are good". After they finished, they both ran over to the SuperSampler to try another. My picky 21 month old son loves both the Vitamuffins and Vitabrownies. I am very satisfied with giving him Vitalicious products as a healthy alternative to some of the sugar/fat/calorie loaded snacks that are marketed towards children. My personal favorites are the Banana Nut VitaTops and the Deep Chocolate Vitatops. Writing this review literally has me wanting to go to the freezer and have one right nowDelicious Vitamuffins from Vitalicious! I have been enjoying the VitaTops for breakfast each morning. They are so delicious and I stay full until lunch time. I love the fact that Vitalicious products are full of fiber. I have really become more "regular" which has been a problem for me.

Chocolate Super SamplerI will admit, I'm not the world's greatest baker which is why I loved this SuperSampler. But if you are one of those talented women who enjoy baking, Vitalicious also caries Vitamix. In addition to VitaMix, they also carry VitaMuffins, VitaCakes, VitaCoffee and bakeware. Campbell's Chicken with Rice Soup

image campbells chicken and rice soupAs a mother of a twenty-month old I can honestly say I don't know what I would do without Campbell's Chicken with Rice Soup. Like many children, my son is a picky eater. I can't tell you the number of times he has turned up his nose at lunch/ dinner time. When that does happen, I know I can rely on his chicken with rice soup. This soups is tied with corn on the cob for first place on his favorite foods list.

My son actually just finished his chicken & rice soup for dinner tonight, which is what made me think of this review. I like to serve it with Goldfish Saltine Crackers. He just loves to dip the crackers in the broth which is fun to watch. And yes, this tastes identical to Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup, just with rice instead of noodles.

What did you like about this product?: Besides the fact that my son loves it, I like the fact that the lid can be easily pulled off without needing a can opener. I like that it is cheap, nutritional and satisfying.

Is there anything you didn't like?:
I do think it is high in sodium, but Campbell's does offer a Healthy Request version which has about 410mg of sodium.

Is it healthy?:
Calories 70, Total Fat 1.5, Sodium 820mg

Would You Recommend: Now that's a silly question. Of course I would!

Pre-Brush Whitening Rinse by Equate (Walmart)

image white teethI intentionally set out to buy regular mouthwash. Once I found myself in the oral care isle, my eyes were drawn to all of the whitening products. Whitening products can be very expensive, especially when it's not a necessity. I was most interested in Listerine Whitening Rinse, Colgate Whitening Rinse and Equate Whitening Rinse. Equate (WalMart) sold around $8.00 cheaper then the others. Being part of a family with only one person working made this a no-brainer for me. Without hesitation, I tossed the Equate Whitening Rinse in my basket.

Cost: Around $4.00

What Size is it?: 32oz

How to use: Rinse for 60 seconds before brushing.

Where To Buy?: Wal*Mart (not sold online)

What did you like about this product?: I like the fact that the ingredients are identical to the competitors. It gives my mouth a fresh clean feeling. The whitening effects are not immediate but I definitely notice them whiter after several weeks of use. And best of all, it is very affordable.

Is there anything you didn't like?: No, it is everything I expected.

Would You Recommend: Yes, I would. Especially considering Wal*Mart guarantees your satisfaction or they will issue a full refund.

Fiber One Oats & Chocolate Chewy Bars

Image Fiber One Bars
The Fiber One Oats & Chocolate granola bars are the best granola bars I've ever had -- I guess that's clear since I'm willing to buy a 12-pack. In my opinion the Chocolate flavor is the best, and I've tried them all (the Peanut Butter is okay but not great, and the Caramel is waaay too sweet and tastes more like butterscotch). The bars are chewy and not at all dry, and there's tons of chocolate! Feels like an indulgent sweet treat, but you're getting 9 grams of fiber. Yes, there are more calories than other granola bars like Quaker (140 cals vs. ~100 cals), but you get way more nutritious value, a better taste, and a more satisfying snack out of it. What's not to love!

I generally get far, far less of the daily recommended fiber, so this was a fantastic way for me to increase my fiber intake and actually eat breakfast most mornings. I actually found that eating one of these in the morning along with a big bottle of water spiked with some sort of calorie free flavoring (like Crystal Light) kept me very full until lunch, and sometimes later. So I wasn't contemplating eating my keyboard by lunchtime anymore.

So, overall, I highly recommend that you give these a try. I've found these bars to be fabulous, and I stock up when they go on sale because I know that I will (eventually) eat them all. I keep a couple in my purse, car, and desk drawer- you never known when you're going to get stuck working through lunch or sitting in traffic until Doomsday.

Starkist Tuna Creations

Image Starkist Tuna Creations
I love Tuna. It's packed full of healthy omega-3's, it's low in fat, high in protein and keeps you filling full longer. But if you too love tune, you probably hate it for the same reason most women (including myself) do. That reason is the fact that it is messy. You have to drain it and there is virtually no way to drain it without getting tuna juice on your hands. It may not be a lot, but it only takes a drop. Go ahead, wash your hands; once , twice, even three times but you are left smelling like tuna and having the animals following you around the house.

Starkist has created a new product called Tuna Creations. Tuna Creations is a individual sized pouch of tuna fish that requires no draining. It tastes even fresher then canned tuna and requires no refrigeration. I tried the Herb and Garlic. It was very tasty but I prefer to season my tuna myself. I prefer a spicy cajun seasoning. In the furure, I plan to purchase the Chunk Light Tuna in the pouch and season myself.

The flavors include: Tomato Pesto Albacore
Herb & Garlic
Sweet & Spicy
Mango Chipotle Salmon
Lemon Pepper
Hickory Smoked

They also have pouches of Tuna Salad, regular chunk light tuna, and albacore tuna.

If you are not a member of VOCALPOINT, you should sign up now. I received a coupon for Starkist Tuna Creations as a buy one get one free. Get samples and coupons in exchange for your valued opinion!

Warning!!!
Starkist Tuna Creations is filled with bold flavor and unbeatable freshness!

Popsickle ( Swirlstix) by Phillyswirl

Image Popsickle Swirlstix
I found these by accident and I'm glad I did. These are great for kids and adults who love intense flavors. They are sold 12 per box and the flavors include Appleicious, Cotton Candy, Orange Dream, Rainbow, New Very Berry, & Banana Split. I found them at my local Wal*Mart for less then $2.00 per box; a price that certainly can't be beat. You may get brain-freeze, but you won't get fat from these bad boys. Each Swirlstix contains just 48 calories,11 carbohydrates, and 1 sugar. And the part I LOVE best? Each popsicle stick is wider and rounder which makes perfect for those little fingers.
